Nylon Vacuum Bags: Material Properties and Application Analysis
1. Material properties and structure
Nylon vacuum bags are made of polyamide (PA, commonly known as nylon) as the core material and are usually compounded with polyethylene (PE) to form a multi-layer structure (such as PA/PE or PA/EVOH/PE).
 
High barrier property: The nylon layer can effectively isolate oxygen, water vapor and odors, extending the shelf life of the contents.
Strong temperature resistance: It can withstand a temperature range of -60℃ to 120℃ and is suitable for high-temperature sterilization or low-temperature freezing environments.
Puncture resistance: The high toughness of nylon makes it less likely to be punctured by sharp objects, making it suitable for packaging bone and meat products or hard parts.

2. Main application scenarios
Food preservation: For foods that need to be stored for a long time, such as meat, seafood, and pickled products, vacuuming is used to inhibit bacterial growth.
Industrial packaging: Anti-oxidation and moisture-proof storage of electronic components, precision instruments and metal parts.
Medical field: Sterilization and packaging of medical devices to ensure a sterile state until use.
Outdoor products: Camping equipment, clothes, etc. are compressed and stored to save space.

4. Key points for Selection
Thickness selection: Commonly 15-25 microns. For food packaging, it is recommended to be ≥18 microns. For heavy industrial products, 25 microns or larger can be chosen.
Composite structure: For high-temperature sterilization, PA/PE is selected; for high barrier requirements, a composite layer containing EVOH (ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer) is chosen.

5. Precautions for Use
Sealing temperature control: The heat sealing temperature of the PE layer is usually 120-150℃. If it is too high, it will cause the nylon layer to melt.
Pre-treatment of contents: Liquid or oily foods should be frozen first and then vacuumed to prevent liquids from seeping into the sealed area.
Reuse limitation: As multiple vacuuming operations may lead to the formation of micro-pores, it is recommended to use it only once to ensure sealing.
